Scagliola is a faux marble made from pigmented plaster. This old craft originally gained popularity in Europe as a tool used by Catholicism, its beauty in their churches a selling point in its "war" against the Lutherans. Now, here at the scagliola research centre, we try to keep this old beautiful trade alive, restoring, researching, producing and teaching this beautiful craft for generations to come.
Come learn with master David Hayles and his wife Angelique, how to make scagliola first hand at Beaver Palace Studios!
Come watch David Hayles and Neil Wiffill demonstrate scagliola at the Tekventures Restoration Expo in Fort Wayne, Indiana! 1550 Griffen Street, April 1st.
